“There was an acute shortage of ammunition in the army during the preparation for the assault on the town Krivoy Rog during 15-21 February 1944.
For relieving the shortage and provisioning for the upcoming operation, the front Command issued supplies, which arrived at the rail station Miloradovka. Captain MYZNIKOV was given the objective to receive the supplies and distribute them among the army units in the short time given. Due to the muddy Spring road condition, the truck column sent out for the task got stuck on the way. A logistical failure was in sight. Comrade MYZNIKOV, exhibiting personal initiative and resourcefulness, obtained empty rail carriages, found and engaged the civilian population and their horse driven transport for the work. In the condition of complete lack of roads and wet mud, on the night to 16 February, he delivered and unloaded 2 loaded trains (18 carriages each). The cargo was then promptly delivered to the station Pri???, and later to the military camps of 28th, 15th, and 188th rifle divisions and 562 mortar regiment. This effort enabled advance of our troops.
After the army reached Dniester river, the troops again found themselves lacking ammunitions, because the army supply base remained behind near Krivoy Rog. Captain MYZNIKOV was given order to accelerate to the maximum the movement of the ammunition railway trains. Comrade MYZNIKOV successfully accomplished the task by skilfully combining railway and road transport options. This enabled our troops to solidify our bridgehead on the other Dniester bank.
For efficient accomplishment of the operative tasks, for initiative and resourcefulness, he deserves state award – order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”. ”
