Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.35 mm in width, 47.12 mm in height and weighs 28.6 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
The order is in excellent condition with problem free enamels. The higher laying parts on its obverse show light to medium wear and many details are still visible. The well fitted silver screwplate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.

The group is accompanied by an order booklet mentioning both Red Stars. Also mentioned are two Orders of the Patriotic War and a Medal for Combat Merit which are missing. The booklet is in excellent condition with all pages present and firmly attached. An original picture of Lieutenant Orlov is glued on the first page.
“In the engagement near the village Kuzmino on 25 January 1942, the mortar company commander Lieutenant ORLOV O.K. suppressed an enemy machine-gun position and eliminated a group of enemy submachine gunners and snipers.
In the engagement near the village Samsonikha (Belov district of the Smolensk region) on 05 December 1942, he went ahead of the formation with 50mm mortar (because the 80mm mortar ammunition ran out) and personally opened fire at the attacking enemy infantry. His well placed fire eliminated up to 30 enemy troops.
In the engagement near the village Doubrovka on 09 December 1942, comrade ORLOV lead the company into an assault and personally killed 4 enemies. Being wounded, he didn’t abandon the battlefield. Comrade ORLOV acted gallantly in the battles.
He deserves state award – order “RED STAR”.”
