After having received the combat orders to begin offensive, Major comrade DYACHKOV rapidly regrouped his forces, developed an effective offensive operation plan, and commenced a decisive offensive. Despite strong enemy fire opposition, he overwhelmed the enemy defences and, closely perusing the retreating enemy, entered and captured the town Kizlyar. Developing further the advance and pursuing the enemy, he and the neighbouring 1376 rifle
regiment assaulted the settlement Nizhnie Beshkovichi. Thanks to the skilful combat governance and his leadership by personal example, the regiment suffered only light casualties during the combat period 01-04 January 1943: 9 KIA and 22 WIA.
