Soviet Order of Glory 3rd class #491528

Made of solid silver and enamels, Measurements: 45.52 in width, 47.95 mm in height and it weighs 22.6 gram (not including its suspension).

In a good, about average condition with medium wear to the higher laying parts. Most details are still visible and both sides show a medium dark toning to the silver. The enamel is all present and original and shows some very minor and superficial chipping around some of the lettering; barely noticeable with the naked eye. There have been no repairs and its connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with its time period double layer steel suspension and old ribbon.

Probably awarded in the spring of 1945 so with great research potential!

The Order of Glory, modeled closely upon the Tsarist Cross of St. George, was awarded to non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the armed forces, as well as junior lieutenants of the air force, for bravery in the face of the enemy. A person initially received the third degree, and would subsequently be promoted to higher degrees for further acts of bravery.
