Early suspension variation, probably awarded in 1951
Soviet Order of Lenin; made out of solid gold, platinum and enamels. Measures 43.35 mm in height, 38.42 mm in width and it weighs 32.7 grams without its suspension. The stamped serial number and raised mint mark are located at the center of its reverse.
This early order is in a nice overall condition with an enamel chip at the top of the red banner. The rest of the enamels are beautiful without repairs. All details are crisp and even the higher parts of the order like Lenin’s face show almost no wear. Its reverse shows a few small scratches and an appealing toning to the gold on top. The order comes with its time period suspension and ribbon and its silver connection ring has been cut.
With the current gold price (11/05/220) the intrinsic value alone is over €1800
