“07/14/1944, he pushed the battery on a direct lead to the eastern bank of the river NEMAN. The fire provided the crossing of the forward detachments and the main forces of the 12th Guards Rifle Regiment. When the 12th Guards Rifle Regiment marched to a counterattack of more than an enemy infantry battalion, the battery guns from a distance of 300 meters opened fire, shooting the counterattacking enemy being still on his way to the location of our military outpost. Two more enemy counterattacks were repelled by the battery’s fire, more hitlerist companies, 4 machine guns and two mortars were annihilated, than the capture of the village of ZEYMY and the consolidation of a strong bridgehead on the western bank of the Neman river were secured. Comrade Krylov was at the firing position all the time, leading the fire of the battery, inspiring his subordinates to perform combat missions.
He is worthy of the governmental award of the Order of LENIN.”
