Awarded to Sergeant Sergey Vasilievich Brusnikin (Сергей Васильевич Брусникин)

For taking out up to 20 enemies

This group consists of the following items:

Order of the Red Star #330605

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.23 mm in height and 48.45 mm in width. It weighs 26.9 gram without its screwplate.
This Red Star is in excellent condition with stunning enamels. The silver base shows almost no dings or scratches on either side but the higher laying parts of its obverse show medium wear. The order comes with its original and well fitted silver screwplate.

Order of the Patriotic War 1st class #494310

Made of goldplated silver and enamels. Measures 46.22 mm in height and 44.05 mm in width. It weighs 28.0 gram without its screwplate. This ‘1985’ variation order of the Patriotic War 1st class is in excellent condition with full gold plating. The enamel has a superficial scratch on its 9 o’clock ray of the red star but is otherwise flawless.

Order of the Badge of Honor #1390774

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 50.25 mm in height and 32.83 mm in width. It weighs 33.1 gram.
In excellent condition with problem free enamels. Both sides show a nice, even dark patina.

Medal for Bravery #358402

Made of solid silver. Measures 41.42 mm in height (incl. the eyelet) and 37.13 mm in width. It weighs 27 gram.
The medal is in nice but worn condition. Most details however are still present.

Medal for the Victory over Germany

Good condition with intensive wear on its higher layng parts like Stalin’s face

Three Jubilee medals

Problem free medals with all details present.

Three award booklets

The award booklets mention the numbered awards mentioned above. The booklet mentioning the Medal for Bravery and the Red Star shows a picture of Brusnikin. Unfortunately the numbers and name are almost unreadable but I am sure it belongs to the group since it was purchased directly from the relatives of the awardee.

Short excerpt of the citation for the Order of the Red Star:

At the battles on the 7th, 8th and 9th of August 1943 in the region of Smolensk district, Brusnikin and his men continuously fought despite enemy mortar fire and suppressed 3 groups of enemy gunners, 2 machinegun nests and killed up to 20 hitlerites.

Short excerpt of the citation for the Medal for Bravey:

He was brave and successfully commanded troops at the battle of XXXXXXXXX village in the Smolenks district. He and his man managed to defeat a counter attack and kill 3 enemies.
