Made of brass and lacquer. The medal measures 36.96 mm in width, 40.98 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 15.8 grams without its suspension.

The medal is in excellent condition with crisp details and most plating present. It shows little wear and the transparent lacquer surrounding the soldier is all present. The medal comes with its original suspension and screwplate.

Awarded to soldiers of the Soviet Army, Navy, border and internal troops: for excellent performance in combat and political training; for special distinction in exercises and manoeuvres in combat service and combat duty; for bravery, selflessness, and other services, shown during military service.
