Soviet Badge of an Activist of MOPR (Society to Help Revolutionaries)

This badge is made of bronze, steel and enamels. The badge measures 25.37 mm in height and 26.71 mm in width and weighs 4.4 gram without its screwplate.

The badge is in excellent, well above average condition with crisp details and light wear only. The enamel is problem free and well preserved and all details are crisp. The badge includes its original screwplate and its screw, although slightly bent, not shortened.

Created by Komintern in 1922, MOPR had a purpose of liberating terrorists from jails around the world, and fomenting anti-government activities in foreign countries. Although many Soviet citizens were enrolled in it and had to make “voluntary” monthly contributions, the activist members deserving a special badge were relatively few.
