For eliminating over 100 German troops with his platoon
Made of solid silver and lacquer. The medal itself measures 32.32 mm in diameter and 37.44 mm in height including the eyelet. It weighs 17.8 gram without its suspension and 26.0 gram with the suspension but without the nut. The eyelet is 5.72 mm in width and the suspension measures 25.67 mm in width at its narrowest point and 31.80 at its widest point.
The medal is in a excellent, well above average condition with relatively few dings and scratches and light wear on the higher laying parts only. The lacquer filling the letters ‘CCCP’ is fully present and original although covered by dirt. The silver suspension is authentic as is the silver screw, hexagon nut, the brass screwplate containing the text ‘Monetnij Dvor’ and the plate holding the ribbon. Its connection ring has not been cut and the ribbon appears to be time period to the medal.

Comrade ZALIVCHIJ has been promoted to an officer rank from an NCO position. He is a participant of all the combat operations conducted by the regiment. He is one of the regiment most decisive commanders. Comrade ZALIVCHIJ proved his high military skill during the combat engagements in October 1942. In these engagements, comrade ZALIVCHIJ mortar platoon eliminated over 100 German troops. And in the subsequent engagements, comrade ZALIVCHIJ maintained his military class in extermination of the German troops.
Comrade ZALIVCHIJ mortar platoon has excellent combat cohesion, every unit member knows his role in the group.
Comrade ZALIVCHIJ has deserved state award – medal “FOR COMBAT MERITS”.
