Medal for Distinction in Guarding the State Border of the USSR

Made of silver plated nickel. It measures 32.16 mm in width and 2.85 mm in thickness at the very edge of the medal. The height of the medal is 37.10 mm including its eyelet and it weighs 16.8 gram without its suspension.

The medal is in excellent condition with crisp details on even the higher laying parts like the soldier’s face. There are however some small scratches at the edge of the medal (9 o’clock position). Both sides show an appealing patina and the medal comes with its time period steel suspension.

Awarded to K.G.B. Border Troops personnel for military or other actions displaying excellence in guarding the Soviet borders.
