Soviet Medal for the Development of Virgin Lands

 

Variation 2 with a round eyelet

 

Awarded to Vladimir Stepanovich Glushchenko (Владимир Степанович Глущенко)

 

 

This Soviet medal for the Development of Virgin Lands is made out of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.07 mm in diameter and it weighs 14.3 gram not including its suspension.

 

The medal is in excellent condition with all details crisp. Much of the gold plating is still present and the medal comes with its time period suspension and ribbon.

 

The document is in excellent condition with all pages firmly attached. It is numbered Б126492. A picture was found between the pages of the booklet. Possibly of the awardee although one can’t be sure.

 

 

Awarded to all Soviet workers who helped cultivate 36,000,000 hectares of previously uncultivated lands in Kazakhstan; Siberia; the Urals; the Volga area and the northern Caucasus for two solid years from 1954–56.
