This Medal for the Salvation of the Drowning is made out of gilded brass. Measurements; 32.13 mm in diameter and 14.9 gram in weight (not including its suspension).
The medal is in excellent condition with all details crisp and most gold plating present. It has only a few miniscule scratches and even the higher laying parts show little wear. The ribbon, as well as the suspension itself are time period to the medal.
The award booklet is dated 21st of May 1985 and is in problem free condition with all pages present.
Awarded to any person (of any nationality) for courage, bravery and selflessness whilst rescuing a person/people from water. Also awarded for outstanding vigilance and resourcefulness preventing drowning or for excellence in organizing of rescue operations in Soviet waters or of Soviet citizens.
