Awarded to Captain Pyotr Gerasimovich Lukinov (Петр Герасимович Лукинов)
Scarce ‘deep dish’ vaiation with strong relief on its reverse
This order of Alexander Nevsky is made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 51.21 mm in height and 49.18 mm in width. It weighs 44.3 gram. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position underneath the screw.
The order is in nice condition with medium wear. Some of the higher laying parts show some wear but most details are visible. The enamel is problem free apart from some small dings on the top ray of the red star and a superficial flake on the 9 o’clock ray of the red star, not penetrating the silver. The order shows no repairs and the screwpost is full length. It comes with its time period silver screwplate.
A scarce piece!
“Throughout the regiment’s combat operations comrade Lukinov has been organizing the communications duties in an excellent manner.
On January 29, 1944, during the fighting for the village of Tishkovka (Zlatopol Raion, Kirovograd Oblast), when German tanks severed the telephone cables leading from the command post to the units with their tracks and threatened to cut off the command post from the regiment’s frontline units, comrade Lukinov arranged for telephone communications to be quickly restored. On his signal, his signallers crawled toward the enemy tanks, dragged the cables out from under the tanks, and diverted the line via de safe side. Communications were restored in a timely manner, which allowed for the danger to be removed. ”
