Awarded to Engineering Lieutenant Colonel Iosif Ignatyevich Salak (Иосиф Игнатьевич Салак)
Soviet Order of Lenin; made out of solid gold, platinum and enamels. Measures 42.78 mm in height and 38.07 mm in width. It weighs 33.5 gram without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark are located at its reverse.
The order is in great condition despite some superficial enamel chips; one small chip underneath the eyelet and one at the 3 o’clock part of the red banner. Both not penetrating the gold and they don’t distract the overall beautiful appearance. The gray enamel is perfect and the gold and platinum only shows almost no dings and scratches. All details are crisp and even the higher parts of the order show almost no wear. There have been no repairs and the connection ring has not been cut. The steel suspension is original and time period to the award.
The document is in great condition without damage and all pages present. Apart from the Order of Lenin it mentions two Red Stars, a Red Banner and an Order of the Patriotic War second class.
Nice early, low numbered suspension piece with a very appealing light red enamel and document.
