Soviet Order of the Patriotic War 1st class #265147

 

Awarded to sergeant Vladimir Fedotovich Krysko (Владимир Федотович Крыско)

 

For killing 4 and capturing 7 soldiers and destroying two machine-gun positions 

 

Stunning piece with its original award document!

 

 

Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 45.81 mm in height, 43.46 mm in width and it weighs 31.8 gram without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark Monetni Dvor in two lines is located at the 12 o’clock position of its reverse.

 

This original order of the Patriotic War 1st class is in near perfect condition. The details are crisp and both the white and red enamels are not only without damage but absolutely stunning. Only some dents are present on the hammer and sickle. Its reverse is in excellent condition as well and shows an attractive dark patina on the silver. Its screwpate fits well and is time period to the order. Its screw maintained its full length.

Brief description of his feat of arms or achievements:

“During our offensive on the Vinnytsia sector in the Kashpury forest, he and his mate killed 1 German officer and captured 7 German soldiers. This fact is known to the 9th company commander of 1000 rifle regiment Lieutenant KALMYKOV. In the vicinity of the station Gulevtsy, Izyaslav district, he destroyed a machine-gun position with his hand grenade. The machine-gun was placed in an attack of a house. In the vicinity of the station Kalinovka, he killed 3 German soldiers hiding in a shed by means of a hand grenade. On the other back of Bug river, near Vinnytsia , he destroyed a machine-gun position installed in a house of the village Lavrenovka. All this can be confirmed by the company commander Lieutenant KALMYKOV and the platoon commander Sr. Lieutenant MAKAROV.

During his stay in the hospital №1503 he proved himself as a disciplined soldier.

Despite his severe wound and 100% loss of sight, he takes active part in the social and political activities.

The hospital №1503 Comamand recommends sergeant KRYSKO Vladimir Fedotovich for order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”.”

Also included in this lot is a certificate for passing a test (mediocre score) to become a railway ticket controller and book keeper. There is no prove of any relevance but since it was found in the award booklet, it comes with the lot.
