Awarded to the Jewish Lt. Col. Elisey Grigoryevich Bronstein (Елисей Григорьевич Бронштейн)
For contributing in the capture of Znamenka and Kirovograd where his brigade repelled 3 powerful enemy armour counter attacks and destroyed over 25 enemy tanks
Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 45.63 mm in height, 43.57 mm in width and weighs 31.3 gram without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark Monetni Dvor is located at the 12 o’clock position of its reverse.
This original order of the Patriotic War 1st class is in excellent condition with crisp details and without repairs. The white and red enamels are absolutely gorgeous and show a tiny superficial chip on the 9 o’clock ray of the red star only; barely noticeable with the naked eye. Its reverse is in excellent condition as well and shows a strong dark patina. Its silver screwpate is time period to the order and the screw maintained its full length.
Beautiful example!
