Soviet Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class #572765

Анатолий Петрович Чеглаков

Awarded to T-34 Commander Anatolij Petrovich Cheglakov (Анатолий Петрович Чеглаков)

For destroying 1 T-3 tank, 2 anti tank cannons, and up to 10 Hitlerites with his tank while being under heavy enemy artillery fire

Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order weighs 26.2 gram without its screwplate and measures 44.13 mm in width and 46.17 mm in height. Its serial number and mint mark can be found at the bottom of its reverse.

This original order of the Patriotic War 2nd class is in nice condition with its details crisp. The red enamel shows several small dings and scratches but no repairs and the white enamel is flawless. It comes with its original, time period screwplate and its screw has not been shortened.

Great order -and technically a complete award group- to a commander of the legendary T-34 Tank. Scarce as such!

Brief description of his feat of arms or achievements:

“Tank commander CHEGLAKOV distinguished himself on 16.01.1944 during the regiments combat engagements near the grove, south of the Oktjabrskij settlement and between the hills 135,1 and 133,8.

Under the intensive enemy artillery and mortar fire, he and his crew destroyed 1 tank T-3, 2 anti tank cannons, and up to 10 Hitlerites. He acted bravely and decisively during the combat. He deserves a state award – order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS””
