Soviet Order of the Red Star #102868 with documents

Клавдия Николаевна Гахова

Awarded to the female doctor and Medical Lieutenant Klavdia Nikolaevna Gakhova (Клавдия Николаевна Гахова)

For providing medical aide and exceptional care to dozens of soldiers under heavy enemy fire. Gakhova was wounded by an enemy bomb blast and was evacuated to a hospital herself

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.06 mm in width, 46.44 mm in height and weighs 29.3 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post. This early variation has a separate screwpost base or as the Russian call it ‘heel’ (пятка).

This original order is in excellent condition. The higher laying parts like the soldier show medium wear although most details are still visible. The enamel is problem free and only shows some contact marks and dings. Its screw has not been shortened.

The order comes with its award booklet which is in excellent condition and has all pages firmly attached to the cover. The Red Star is the only award mentioned so technically this can be considered a complete group. Also in this lot are two coupon booklets with numbers matching the award booklet (A 109250).
