Soviet Order of the Red Star #1697688

Soviet Order of the Red Star; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.15 mm in width, 46.87 mm in height and weighs 32.8 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.

In excellent condition with stunning enamels without repairs or damage. The higher laying parts on its obverse show light wear only and both sides have a nice medium dark patina. The screwplate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.

Probably awarded during the spring of 1945 so with nice research potential

The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
