Soviet Order of the Red Star #2000987

 

Awarded to Sergeant Sergey Alexandrovich Voloshin (Михаил Моисеевич Урин)

 

For courage and perseverance in crossing the Mongolian Desert and the Chinese provinces of Chakhar and Jekhe in the fight against the Japanese

 

 

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.07 mm in width, 46.42 mm in height and weighs 32.0 gram without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark on the 12 o’clock position of its reverse.

 

This original order of the Red Star is in an excellent, well above average condition. The details are mostly visible and the enamels problem free with some minor contact marks only. There have been no repairs and the screw is full length. It comes with a well fitted and time period screwplate.

“On a hike across the arid desert steppes of Mongolia, in the Khingan mountains and in the Chinese provinces of CHAKHAR and JEKHE from 22.07. on 09/01/1945, Comrade VOLOSHIN was an example of endurance and discipline, constantly moving in a column, encouraging and inspiring his fighters to overcome the difficulties of the campaign, organized assistance to weak fighters, not allowing cases of backlog from the squad, kept weapons clean and constant readiness, not allowing the loss of weapons and ammunition.

For his courage and perseverance, which contributed to the best success in the campaign, he is worthy of the government award of the ORDER OF THE RED STAR.”
