Made out of gilded brass. Measures 32.11 mm in width, 37.16 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 16.1 gram without its suspension.<\/p>\n

In near mint condition with crisp details and full gold plating present. The suspension is time period to the medal and the ends of the original connection ring have been soldered together by the Soviet mint.<\/p>\n

This medal is one of the post-war issues that were awarded by a Voenkomat (Military Commissariat) at the veteran\u2019s place of residence. The reasons for the late issue could vary but in most instances, the Voenkomat medals were \u201ccatch-up\u201d awards to those who had taken part in the battle and then somehow overlooked by the awarding authorities during WW2 and in the immediate post-war years.p;<\/p>\n
