Voenkomat Variation<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Made of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.08 mm in diameter, 36.80 mm in height and weighs 16.6 gram without its suspension.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This medal is in near mint condition with crisp details and full gold plating. The suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal and its connection ring has not been cut.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This medal is one of the post-war issues that were awarded by a Voenkomat (Military Commissariat) at the veteran\u2019s place of residence. The reasons for the late issue could vary but in most instances, the Voenkomat medals were \u201ccatch-up\u201d awards to those who had taken part in the battle and then somehow overlooked by the awarding authorities during WW2 and in the immediate post-war years.<\/em><\/p>\n

Awarded\u00a0to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defence of the Caucasus region during WW2 between July 1942 and 9 October 1943.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
