The order measures 49.29 mm in width, 47.44 mm in height and weighs 31.7 gram without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark on the 12 o’clock position of its reverse. This early variation has a round base ‘heel’ of the screw.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This original order of the Red Star is in an excellent, well above average condition. The details are mostly visible and the enamels are flawless. The reverse is in superb condition too with almost no dings or scratches. There have been no repairs and the screwpost is full length. It comes with its time period silver screwplate and both sides show an appealing medium patina.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n An early award with great eye appeal. Scarce as such!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n “During the enemy attack near the village Krapivna on 14 February 1942, the enemy delivered hurricane of mortar fire, which inflicted losses on our troops. Comrade SHEVCHENKO exhibited exceptional heroism in rescuing the wounded of the different companies from under the enemy fire. In this engagement, he rescued and evacuated from the battlefield: 27 wounded and 8 killed with their personal firearms.<\/p>\n During the engagement itself, he inspired the enlisted men and the officers by his personal brave conduct. Disregarding the artillery and mine explosions, he went out to rescue his comrades.
