Awarded to Guards Lt. Colonel Nikolay Gordeevich Balashov (\u041d\u0438\u043a\u043e\u043b\u0430\u0439 \u0413\u043e\u0440\u0434\u0435\u0435\u0432\u0438\u0447 \u0411\u0430\u043b\u0430\u0448\u043e\u0432)<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Balashov was awarded 3 orders of Alexander Nevsky which happened only 5 times in complete history of the USSR. Nobody was awarded the order 4 times.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 51.37 mm in height, 50.18 mm in width and weighs 41.8 gram. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor <\/em>are located at the 6 o’clock position underneath the screwpost.<\/p>\n

This original order of Alexander Nevsky is in excellent condition with all deatils crisp. Even the higher laying parts on the obverse show light wear only. Almost all of the gold plating is present and the enamels are flawless. The screw has slightly been shortened by a few millimeter and there have been no repairs. It comes with its time period and well fitted silver screwplate.<\/p>\n

Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:<\/strong><\/h6>\n

“He provided fire support to 315 Guards rifle regiment, 128 Guards rifle division in the operation for enemy defence breakthrough north-west of Ostrava (Moravia) and commanded the infantry artillery support group.<\/p>\n

He arranged for efficient operation of the artillery support group and the coordination with the supported rifle units. As the result of this effort, the fire delivered by the support group on 14 April 1945 completely disabled the enemy firing positions on the first line and in to the close depth of the enemy defence: destroyed 10 machine-guns, 2 mortar batteries, 2 guns on open sight positions, suppressed 105mm artillery battery, annihilated 50m of trenches. Our rifle units took control of the settlement Gorzyce practically without any losses, and later on crossed the river Olza.<\/p>\n

He acted bravely and courageously during the engagement.<\/p>\n

He was severely wounded while being present at his commander post in immediate vicinity of our rifle combat formations.<\/p>\n

He deserves a state award – order \u201cRED BANNER\u201d.”<\/p>\n
