None of the higher laying parts on the obverse show any wear and the details are all crisp. The red enamel is absolutely stunning without any dings or scratches. The gold plating on the wreath, sword and arrows is mostly present as is the gilt on the pollaxes. The screw has its full length and it has no repairs. It comes with its time period silver screwplate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">A beautiful piece awarded to a Hero of the Soviet Union. Impossible to upgrade!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>&#8220;Commanding his battalion during the combat operations the Corps conducted between January 14 and 25, 1945, comrade Mishchenko showed himself a bold and strong-willed commander.<\/p>\n<p>All instructions the battalion received pertaining to reconnaissance were executed to the letter. In a timely manner; thus enabling situational awareness, with Corps command receiving timely information about the enemy and his actions.<\/p>\n<p>On the night of January 22 to 23, 1945, a regiment-sized enemy infantry force, supported by tanks and armored personnel carriers, cut off the Corps\u2019 supply lines near Opat\u00f3wek and broke through to the city of Kalisz. The orders for comrade Mishchenko\u2019s battalion were to take up defensive positions and cover the Corps\u2019 command post.
