However, most details remain visible and a fair amount of gold plating still present. The brass suspension is time period to the medal.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Its accompanying document shows his name and rank, the date 14 September 1945 and its serial number \u0413 0218047. The document is signed by SMERSH Colonel Dmitry Vasilievich Cheremukhin<\/a> and bears the red SERSH stamp of the 7th Guards Army.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u0421\u041c\u0415\u0420\u0428 (‘SMERSH’) is a portmanteau of the Russian-language phrase \u0421\u043c\u0435\u0440\u0442\u044c \u0448\u043f\u0438\u043e\u043d\u0430\u043c (“Death to Spies”).
