Medal for the Defense of Leningrad; made of heavy gold plated brass. Measures 32.11 mm in width;\u00a0<\/span>37.78 mm in height, including the eyelet and weighs 17.1 gram.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This medal is in pristine condition with perfect details and all gold plating still present. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These heavy gold plated, ‘proof coinage’ medals with a polished sky were produced for high ranking military personnel and officials. Extra attention was given in the production and even the eyelet and connection ring were heavily plated. Only a handful<\/span>\u00a0were produced and they can be considered among the rarest of campaign medals!<\/span><\/p>\n
