Head of Staff of a Polish infantry squadron for huge successes during the Warsaw offensive operation

 

 

Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order weighs 25.9 gram without its screwplate and measures 45.65 mm in width and 48.06 mm in height. This type is produced by the Leningrad Mint and had a strong counter relief which is very typical for this number range.

 

This original order of the Patriotic War 2nd class is in nice condition with crisp details. The enamel of the 3 o’clock of the red star has been repaired but is otherwise fine. It comes with its original, time period screwplate and its screw is full length.

As the Head of Staff of the squadron, he was established efficient control over the execution of the combat tasks and established proper information procedures towards artillery battery commanders. In the offensive operation during 14/Jan – 18/Mar 1945 for the towns Warsaw, Bydgots, Redepits, and Temmelburg, the squadron inflicted the following losses upon the enemy: repelled 7 enemy counters attacks by infantry and armour, suppressed 7 artillery batteries and 4 mortar batteries, destroyed two 75mm cannons, 14 heavy machine-guns, 9 light machine-guns, smashed 5 horse carriages loaded with military martial, eliminated up to 110 Hitlerites. He is disciplined. The discipline in the squadron is on high level. He deserves state award – order “Red Star”.
